♦ 50 years of history

Since 1957, when Arsène GAUTHEY founded GAUTHEY p.l.c. the company has never ceased to develop.

Initially working in the electrical engineering field with clients such as the railways, the mines and public works... Our company has always kept abreast of the latest technology.

Autun

In 1992, as a result of new and varied market trends, GAUTHEY AUTOMATISMES was set up with the objective of focusing on state-of-the-art technology.

If we look at the economic results, with a doubling of the turnover in 5 years and the significant change from a regional to an international client base, the gamble has certainly paid off.

♦ Location

The head office, administrative offices and workshops of GAUTHEY AUTOMATISMES are all grouped together in Autun, a gallo-roman town full of history, on the borders of the Morvan national park and southern Burgundy. This area is the home of several logistic platforms, clearly indicating the ease of access. Paris and Lyon are only 1 hour 30 mins and 30 mins away, respectively by TGV (high speed train), the main A6 motorway from Paris to Lyon is close by, as is the motorway to the East via Dijon.

But come and see for yourselves - knowing that there will always be a warm welcome for you in our beautiful region - renowned for its good food and fine Burgundy wines.

♦ Work environment

The Autun offices, housed in tastefully restored former farm buildings, provide a confortable working evironment combining modern and traditional décor.

In addition to the new buildings all existing office/workshop space has been specially designed to cope with the company's expansion.

Today, the site includes  :
Plans and design •  500 sq. meters of design office space for electrical, automatic control and I.T. development.
•  700 sq. meters of workshop space for cabling and assembly.
•  500 sq. meters of stock room space.
•  500 sq. meters of admin. office space.
•  Plus a large private car park.

♦ Our resource base

Today, GAUTHEY AUTOMATISMES specialises in state-of-art technology whilst remaining an expert in the more traditional field of electrical engineering.

All operations and tasks are shared by our team of about 45 people and include the following areas of expertise :
•  The design office looks after all electro-technical studies and software development for automatic control & I.T.
•  Cabling & assembly is carried out in our workshops.
•  We provide on-site assembly teams.
•  All equipment is ISO 9001 certified and thoroughly tested throughout the development phase.
•  Clients are trained to operate our equipment and we usually participate in their production start ups.
•  The company has set up a comprehensive safety procedures programme, both for the workers and machines.
•  Training of our team is vital and our efforts are relentless in this area.

Our teams operate throughout France, in Europe and regularly worldwide.
Automatic control development

On site, certain work is sub-contracted to experienced local firms. However, these local teams are always closely supervised by management from GAUTHEY AUTOMATISMES.

•  5 network-linked workstations with SEE Electrical Expert and X.ELEC – computation software such as ECODIAL etc.

In automatic control development  :

•  SCHNEIDER, SIEMENS & ROCKWELL

In I.T. development & supervision  :

•  WINDEV, VISUAL BASIC, WIZCON, CITECT, WIN CC, CIMPLICITY
Workshop

Plus a specific platform for the tele-maintenance and tele-management.

In all, about 20 network-linked workstations .

In the workshop  :

All necessary equipment for cabling and building electric and electronic equipment, including power, operation and other miscellaneous inspection appartus.

On site  :

Very much a reality  !

Being a specialist s.m.e. allows us to respond rapidly to client needs.

As a result of this certain clients have signed specific contracts with us, including telephone assistance with a full 24 hour, 365 day coverage.

In addition certain contracts include assistance through our "tele-platform" which is able to provide "tele-assistance" and "tele-management" for our installations worldwide.

Naturally, if need should arise, we can provide on-site assistance…

TRAINING

GAUTHEY AUTOMATISMES provides training for the clients' personnel, at all levels of maintenance and/or operator skills.

We are a recognised and accredited training organisation in our field…
